The Oakland Athletics Coliseum, also known as the RingCentral Coliseum for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium located in Oakland, California. It's primarily used for baseball and football events. The stadium has a rich history, serving as the home ballpark for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL) for many years.

Opened in 1966, the Coliseum has undergone several renovations and expansions over the years. It's one of the few remaining stadiums in the United States that is shared by professional baseball and football teams. The distinctive features of the Coliseum include its expansive seating capacity, which can accommodate over 46,000 spectators for baseball games and more than 56,000 for football games.

Despite its historical significance and unique characteristics, the Coliseum has faced criticisms for its aging infrastructure and facilities. The Athletics have been exploring options for a new ballpark to replace the Coliseum, citing various issues such as outdated amenities, poor sightlines, and difficulties in attracting fans due to its location.

In recent years, discussions and proposals have emerged regarding the construction of a new stadium for the Athletics within the Oakland area. However, as of my last update in January 2022, no concrete plans had been finalized, and the future of the team's home venue remains uncertain.
