Experience the beauty and culture of Japan at the Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival, returning to Garry Point Park this April. Since 2017, this annual event has celebrated the 255 akebono cherry trees donated by the B.C. Wakayama Kenjin Kai, honoring Japanese heritage in Steveston. Join us for a day filled with cultural performances, exhibits, artisan demonstrations, and delicious food from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 7. Discover the art of calligraphy, bonsai, and traditional Japanese tea ceremonies at the hanami tent, while enjoying the rhythms of taiko drummers, folk singers, and dancers at the sakura tent. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the splendor of cherry blossoms and Japanese traditions. Visit our website for more information and the event schedule.
