The Daikin Festival is back for 2024, celebrating Daikin’s 30th Anniversary at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama. On May 3, from 6:30 until 9pm CDT, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of this Bon Odori-style festival.

Experience the rich cultural exchange between Japan and the United States through traditional Japanese Bon Odori dancing, complemented by an array of tantalizing festival foods. Indulge in a feast for the senses with favorites like pizza, BBQ, chicken fingers, jambalaya, hamburgers, yakisoba, and the newest addition, yakitori - all served with authentic flavors that transport you to Japan.

But it’s not just about the food - enjoy live music performances, including Daikin’s “Taiko Force” drum team and the beloved local band Natchez Trace. Engage in cultural activities like Shodo (Japanese calligraphy) and take part in Japanese folk dancing lessons. The night crescendos with a spectacular fireworks display that lights up the sky, marking the culmination of this unforgettable celebration.

Best of all, admission to the festival is FREE! Daikin America extends its hospitality to provide a memorable experience for families, ensuring that food, drink, and entertainment are all taken care of at no cost.

Join us for an evening of cultural immersion and community spirit at one of the largest Japanese cultural events in the Southeast. Save the date, and stay tuned for updates as we prepare to make Daikin Festival 2024 an event to remember.

History
One of the largest Japanese cultural events in the Southeastern United States is eagerly anticipated by us. The free family-friendly festival, which at its peak attracted 20,000 people, will feature live music, Japanese folk dancing, Japanese calligraphy, yakisoba, barbecue, hamburgers, drinks and fireworks.

Created in 1994 to celebrate Daikin America's grand opening in Decatur, the Daikin Festival, which shares Japanese culture with the community, started in the company's parking lot in 1994 with 500 guests.
