Her sound melds classical, new age, jazz, R&B and ambient music while incorporating both Eastern and Western influences, and her career spans some three decades and influences ranging from Chopin, Mozart and Rachmaninoff to Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett and Stevie Wonder. A consummate and versatile live performer, Matsui has firmly cemented her reputation as a leading innovator of contemporary fusion jazz.
