Hiroshima announces their celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month on Saturday, May 14, 2016, in concert at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center with guest vocalists Terry Steele (former Hiroshima soloist) and Yvette Nii who joined Hiroshima on their latest CD "Songs With Words" the very first all vocal CD for the band.

The evening will feature selections from "Songs With Words" and other Hiroshima favorites. "Songs With Words" their 20th CD was recorded live in studio and offers some of the early Hiroshima vocal classics, which are no longer available.

With a musical career spanning 3 decades, gold records and 4 million in sales worldwide, Hiroshima continues to make their unique mix of East meets West - their signature sound.

Dan Kuramoto stated, "Don't miss our concert which features the songs that helped launch our career. Hear "Roomful of Mirrors," "Long Time Love," "Da Da," and so many more, sung by Terry Steele and the lovely Yvette Nii the incredible vocalists on our 2010 Grammy-nominated, "Legacy"CD. Come and share a very special evening of Hiroshima music and song andpick up a copy of our new all vocal CD, "Songs with Words."

"We released a new CD in January that may surprise you. Its ALL vocals "Songs With Words," our 20th recording, is a response to all the requests we've received to put our early vocal songs all on one CD. "Roomful of Mirrors" our first radio hit " Long Time Love," "Da Da," "Never Ever," all from our first record, along with popular songs like "Tabo," "The Door Is Open," and a special ohana version of "Thousand Cranes" and more."

There is even a special free download you can access from a code inside the CD that features an amazing jam of our song "Do What You Can," jam featuring one of our friends and heroes Vinx. You have to check that one out!

Lest you feel 'detached' from the Hiroshima sound, the music is all held together by our own queen of soul, June Kuramoto on koto. I found her work on this project truly amazing she is the sound of Hiroshima, after all.

Knowing us, we didn't get to it right away partly because we wanted to find a way to make it unique. So when we decided that we would record those songs 'live' it all kind of fell into place. Bringing back brother Terry Steele and the lovely Hawaiian Yvette Nii the duo who sang on our 2010 Grammy-nominated "Legacy" CD we crammed band, singers, engineer and producer into Studio Tofuville and 'went for it.' Along with some of our favorite guest artists Richie Gajate Garcia, percussion; Jim Gilstrap and Hillary Black, vocals and Leslie Chew, guitar.

This may be a once in a career reunion for us and our "Songs with Words." So please join us . . . concluded Kuramoto."
