Japanese Food Expo 2023 is back on October 28th!  In 2023, we will be hosting the Japanese Food Expo at Hilton Los Angeles / Universal City! Due to overwhelming support from our fans, we will be showcasing our favorite Japanese foods, drinks, and workshops. Spend a special day experiencing the joy and excitement with your friends and family. We will be welcoming selected representatives from various prefectures, who will share Japanese gourmet dishes made with traditional techniques and artistry. Additionally, in response to everyone's requests, beloved Japanese food brands will gather. Dive into the delectable dishes and beverages they offer. At the Japanese Food Expo 2023, immerse yourself in Japanese cuisine, beer, sake, and various workshops! See you all there!

This year there are three time frames to choose from. The food, drinks and cultural experiences will be exactly the same for both time slots. Please note that there is a 1 hour break between the 1st and 2nd time slot; this gives our vendors a quick break and replenish for our 2nd time slot guests.

Live Blue Fin Tuna Cutting
Experience a live cutting of a bluefin tuna with Chef Andy Matsuda! This is an incredible show that is hard to see unless you're in Japan. Chef Andy Matsuda is a master of cutting the famous bluefin tuna and every time we hold this event, he gives an amazing show that is hard to forget. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to see this live!

Onigiri and Omusubi Sandwich Class
Ever tried an 'Onigiri' or a 'Omusubi Sandwich'? If not, now's your chance! Join us at our special corner where you can immerse yourself in the art of making these traditional Japanese rice balls, known as Onigiri, and the delightful Omusubi Sandwiches. Not only will you learn how they're crafted, but you'll also get a taste of their deliciousness. Perfect for both newcomers and those familiar with Japanese cuisine. Come and savor a bite of Japan's comfort food!

Taiko Performance
Taiko drums, a staple in traditional Japanese festivals and ceremonies, are known for their deep, resonant sound that truly stirs the soul. Feel the energy and passion of the performers up close, as they deliver a dynamic display of rhythm and precision. What can I bring into the event?

Bring your friends and family! Everyone is welcome! Photography is encouraged, so bring your fancy DSLR/mirrorless cameras and your cellphones! If you can help us out, tag us on social media with #japanesefoodexpo2023

What's the refund policy?
Tickets are fully refundable up to 24 hours before the event with an additional fee ($10). Please note the initial Eventbrite fees are non-refundable for all tickets.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Admission requires verification of your confirmation code/barcode which will be emailed to you upon purchase. You can bring your phone/device showing this code, or bring a printout, whichever you prefer. If you are buying tickets for multiple people, please keep in mind each of them will need to check in.

Is this an all you can eat event?
This is technically not an all you can eat event because people tend to pick up as much food as possible and throw away uneaten food. Therefore, in order to minimize food waste, you can eat as much as you want but there is a limit of 1 serving per person every time you line up for a food item.
