Sentimental City Romance are a Japanese rock band formed in Nagoya, Aichi in 1973. Sentimental City Romance have the longest life among all bands in Japan (40 years in 2013). Moreover, the majority of the band members stay the same. When the band was formed in 1973, they were mainly influenced by the American country/southern rock music and some British music. But they soon found their original play style as well as their unique Japanese lyrics. Sentimental City Romance released their self-titled debut album and single "Uchiwamome" in August 1975 from the CBS Sony foreign music section. Haruomi Hosono (YMO, happy end) was the chief audience of this album. The album won the CBS Sony golden LP prize, but at the same time, a controversy generated over their debut album among critics. It involved many people, while the band members were busy with tours. In February 2013, their 8 albums were re-released from Universal Music Japan. It was digitally remasterd SHM-CD (Super High Material CD). They have also performed many festivals lining up with big name artists including YOKO ONO. From March, Sentimental City Romance started their 40th anniversary Japan tour.
