Sawtelle Stories Forum XI features two outstanding Sawtelle Nikkei legacy events.ï¿½

One features George Izumi,. founder and owner of the famous Nikkei Grace's Pastries.ï¿½ George grew up in Sawtelle.ï¿½ He will describe his youthful years, going to Manzanar, and becoming a Master Baker to the point that his pastries were the toast of Los Angeles.

The second legacy event features Randy Sakamoto.ï¿½ His grandfather, Gisuke Sakamoto, founded the Japanese Institute of Sawtelle (JIS).ï¿½ Randy has a large film collection some of which will be showcased to show his grandfather's lasting contributions to the Sawtelle Japanese community.

Both contributors will present comments contributing to learning further about the Sawtelle Nikkei community.
