On June 29, 2013, Makoto Taiko, led by Grammy-award winning Taiko Master, Koji Nakamura, will host its 8th Annual Concert at Occidental College near Pasadena, California. Special guest performer will be Mike Penney on the shamisen. Approximately 50 members of Makoto Taiko will perform traditional and contemporary taiko pieces including the debut of two original compositions. Advance tickets are strongly recommended as last year's concert was attended by nearly 900 people and filled the venue to capacity.
