The world premiere at Theater Works in Peoria, Arizona, April 13, till April 22nd, 2012. This play include a heart warming story for the whole family and Japanese Taiko durumming, martial arts action, old and new dancing and the state of art CG animated background! It's worth seen.
Sakura no Ne (Root of the Cherry Tree)

Theater Works and the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix invites you to the World Premiere of the magical theatre play Sakura no Ne. This stage production brings to life the intriguing story of two everyday kids and their unexpected relationship with an older Japanese gentleman gardener at the Japanese Friendship Garden. Initially viewed as an unwelcome introduction to Japanese arts, culture and activities in Arizona, the kids find themselves willingly learning the importance of understanding the difference between self-confidence and selfishness.

The cherry (blossom) is said to be connected to every other cherry tree on earth. In recognition of the Centennial of the Gift of Cherry Trees to America, you will be taken on an amazing journey that features spectacular footage of the Garden, high energy taiko drumming, exciting live marital art performances, traditional dances, stunning costumes and interesting characters. Their "once upon a time" story will resonate with the young and not-so-young alike. This wondrous journey takes us through sunshine, rain and remarkable cinematic special effects to realize the genuine beauty that is found within each one of us  without leaving your seat!

Made possible by a generous grant award from the Sundome Performing Art Association and in collaboration with Grateful Crane Ensemble and Sakura no Ne Enterprise, this unique combination of entertainment presented on one state is sure to delight!
