Sun Valley Buddhist Temple

Sun Valley Buddhist Church was established in 1954 to propagate and share the teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism within the community. It is located at 8850 Lankershim Blvd, Sun Valley, California 91352. The Sun Valley Buddhist Church is a branch temple of the Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple (LA Betsuin) and participates in the L.A. Betsuin activities such as Ohigan, Hanamatsuri, Hoonko, Obon dancing and carnival, and fundraisers.

There is an active Fujinkai organization and Dharma School. The Fujinkai is a member of the Southern District Buddhist Women’s Association (BWA) and BCA Federation of BWA.

Family services are held once a month, officiated by a reverend from the L.A. Betsuin.
