Kyodo Taiko is a vibrant and dynamic taiko (Japanese drumming) group based at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Founded in 1990, Kyodo Taiko has become one of the premier collegiate taiko groups in the United States, known for its high-energy performances and commitment to preserving and promoting Japanese culture through music. The group consists of undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds, united by their passion for taiko and their dedication to excellence in their craft.

One of Kyodo Taiko's distinguishing features is its fusion of traditional taiko drumming techniques with contemporary influences, resulting in a unique and electrifying sound. The group's repertoire includes both traditional Japanese pieces and original compositions, showcasing their creativity and versatility as musicians. Kyodo Taiko's performances often incorporate synchronized choreography and dynamic movements, adding a visual element to their captivating music.
