Trestles is a renowned collection of surfing spots located at San Onofre State Beach in San Diego County, California. It is widely regarded as one of Southern California's premier surfing destinations and attracts surfers from around the world. The area derives its name from the nearby railroad bridge, which is supported by a series of wooden trestles.

Trestles is renowned for its consistent and high-quality waves, making it a favorite among surfers of all skill levels. It offers a variety of breaks that cater to different surfing styles and preferences. The primary breaks at Trestles are known as Lower Trestles, Upper Trestles, Cottons, and Uppers.

Lower Trestles, often considered the crown jewel of the area, is known for its world-class waves. It is a high-performance wave that produces powerful and fast barrels, allowing surfers to showcase their skills with dynamic maneuvers. This break is particularly favored by professional surfers and hosts various competitions, including the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour.

Upper Trestles, located slightly north of Lower Trestles, offers a more mellow and forgiving wave suitable for surfers of various skill levels. Cottons, another break in the vicinity, is known for its long, peeling waves, making it a popular choice for longboarders. Uppers, located further north, is less crowded and offers consistent waves that can be enjoyed by intermediate to advanced surfers.

Trestles is surrounded by beautiful coastal scenery, with pristine beaches and natural landscapes. The area is part of the San Onofre State Beach, which also includes campgrounds and recreational facilities for visitors to enjoy.
