The San Gabriel Valley AAU Basketball Club (SGV) is the premier youth basketball program focusing on teaching the fundamentals of basketball.  SGV is one of the largest and most positive AAU clubs in the nation.  SGV creates a stepping-stone for young
athletes that want to improve their basketball skills.

SGV focuses on teamwork, attitude, and commitment while teaching strong fundamentals and assertive play.  We prepare the athletes mentally and physically for AAU basketball.  SGV provides the priceless experience of competing at the national level while offering the opportunity of exposure, which may lead to college scholarships.  Our main goal is to prepare the athletes for High School basketball. Our first group of girls yielded 7 Varsity and 2 Junior Varsity in their freshman year.  SGV is a 12-month camp that teaches basic basketball fundamentals in a structure and disciplined form.  We have a full program which includes independent shooting and fundamental coaches.  SGV offers 12 boys and girls teams in grades 3 through 8.  The younger athletes participate in our “Intensity” fundamentals camp  while  the older athletes travel to the AAU events.  SGV continues to maintain a strong bond with the local community leagues, an arena where we carefully choose athletes/parents.

Your child will leave SGV with the fundamental skills and the necessary tools to make him/her a successful High School athlete.  All graduated athletes move on to successful High School careers where they will exhibit the fundamental base they developed with
SGV.  We are very proud of our fundamental and educational program, which has proven to be one of the best in the nation.

The SGV 11s finished second at the 2002 AAU National Championships in Kingsport, Tennessee.  This team competed with the same core of athletes from the previous years.  After the tournament, Tennessee Coach Pat Summit took the girls on a private tour of her facility.  This team also finished in 5th place at the 10 and Under National Championships in Orlando and won the 10 and Under National Invitational Tournament in Arizona as 9s.

SGV attends the AAU National Championships in Florida every year, and travels frequently to Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, San Diego, San Francisco, and Santa Barbara.  Our goal is not to win, but to improve the athlete’s skills and expose them to superior competition to raise the level of their game.  In 2004, our 10s Blue team finished fourth at the AAU Nationals and our 10s White team finished first at the National Invitational Tourney in Orlando.  Our 11s finished 7th at the AAU Nationals in Kenner, Louisiana during the same year.

SGV’s schedule rarely conflicts with the local community leagues.  SGV relies upon the local community leagues to provide an arena from where SGV draws its’ athletes.  Your community league’s regular season practices and games always takes precedence over SGVSGV has established an excellent program for athletes to excel not only in basketball, but also in the classroom.  We teach athletes to exhibit a competitive sportsperson like attitude on and off the court.  Our 2005 10U team place third in the Nation and was ranked #1 in California.
