The Yakima Valley Museum will be holding their first Day of Remembrance event with a panel discussion and audience Q&A with panelists Tammy Ayer, Yakima Herald Republic Editor, whose year-long monthly series has focused on this unknown story; Ellen Allmendinger, local historian who offers tours on the Yakima Valley Japanese community before WWII; and Patti Hirahara, of Anaheim, California, whose Yakima family roots has been instrumental in telling this story across the U.S.

After the panel discussion and Q&A, guests will be able to view the Yakima Valley Museum's award winning exhibition "Land of Joy and Sorrow - The Japanese Pioneers of the Yakima Valley," which will be celebrating its 8th year anniversary this year.

Seating is limited and guests are encouraged to RSVP by calling (509) 248-0747.
