Crystal City Pilgrimage brings together survivors, descendants, scholars, and allies to reflect on the wartime incarceration of immigrants in the U.S. and to connect it to present-day immigration and human rights struggles. Participants will tour the confinement site, visit the My Story Museum, hear community presentations, and engage in memorial programming guided by local docents and voices.

Registration is now closed. The registration fee (when open) was $395 per person, covering bus transportation from San Antonio to Crystal City, meals tied to pilgrimage programming, and other related costs. A limited number of registration scholarships were available for survivors, descendants, and students in need (contact [email protected] for information). Participants are asked to secure lodging at the DoubleTree San Antonio Airport Hotel (611 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78216), which offered a special rate of $119/night (single or double) plus taxes and complimentary airport shuttle. Hotel check-in begins at 4:00 pm, and check-out is at 12:00 pm on departure day.

Conference-style sessions and presentations in San Antonio - Day-trip by bus to Crystal City: guided tours of the confinement site and visit to the My Story Museum - Memorial program at the site monument (near where two Japanese Peruvian girls drowned in 1944) - Stamping of the Ireichō Book of Names - Docent-led community storytelling and historical context - Exhibits at My Story Museum: America’s Last WWII Concentration Camp, Chicano Movement in Zavala County, 1969 student walkouts, and local veteran stories
