Great news for SHOGUN fans! If you caught the Buddhist elements while watching FX's hit drama, you have a keen eye! Buddhism was inseparably woven into the culture and society of feudal Japan.

Join us for an exclusive talk event featuring Rev. Tatsuya Aoki - both an actor in SHOGUN and an ordained Jodo Shinshu priest. Rev. Aoki served as a cultural consultant for the production team led by Hiroyuki Sanada, who insisted on "authentic" Japanese cultural representation. Beyond his consulting role, Rev. Aoki also appeared on screen as a Buddhist priest.

This is your chance to deepen your understanding of SHOGUN by exploring the Buddhist philosophies that profoundly influenced Japanese society and culture during this period. You'll also get fascinating behind-the-scenes insights into the making of the series!

Admission is completely free. Take this opportunity to enhance your appreciation of Japanese culture in an "authentic" temple setting.

This event is part of the Annual Tri-Temple Seminar hosted by Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha temples in the Los Angeles area. Everyone is welcome regardless of temple membership.
