Yoshiki Takes Center Stage at Dodger Stadium: A Rendition of National Anthems and Artistic Endeavors.

Possible 6:45 pm

Get ready for a unique pre-game spectacle at Dodger Stadium! On April 16th, Japanese rock icon Yoshiki, leader of the bands X Japan and The Last Rockstars, will be gracing the field not with a guitar, but with a piano. This renowned drummer and songwriter will be delivering a live rendition of the U.S. national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner," before the Dodgers take on the Washington Nationals.

A Night of Collaboration and Celebration
This special performance coincides with "Hello Kitty Night" at Dodger Stadium. Yoshiki, known for his diverse artistic ventures, is also composing the theme song for Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary, adding another layer of cultural exchange to the evening. The song is expected to be released sometime this spring.

From Rock Star to Renowned Artist
While Yoshiki is a powerhouse behind the drum kit and known for his energetic stage presence, his talents extend far beyond music. He has delved into the world of fine art, creating a series of Chinese character ("kanji") prints. These intricate works showcase his artistic depth and ability to connect with audiences through different mediums.

A Moment to Remember
The April 16th game promises to be a memorable one for fans of music, baseball, and Japanese culture. Witnessing Yoshiki's unique piano interpretation of the national anthem, alongside the Hello Kitty festivities, will be a delightful fusion of entertainment.
