The Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, or Chado, is a centuries-old cultural tradition that offers a profound insight into Japanese art, aesthetics, and philosophy.  An opportunity to experience the rich heritage of the Way of Tea. The ceremony will be conducted by the Urasenke Tankokai Los Angeles Association, a respected organization dedicated to preserving and promoting this cherished practice.

Chado is not merely about preparing and consuming tea; it's a carefully choreographed performance that embodies principles of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. The event is open to all and does not require prior registration, making it an accessible way to witness a piece of Japanese culture. It's an opportunity to delve into the world of tradition, symbolism, and mindfulness that define the Japanese tea ceremony.

For those interested in immersing themselves in this beautiful cultural experience, mark the date and location on your calendar and contact the Reference Desk at 310-781-7588 for more information.
