Yayoi Kusama FAQ
Due to the high volume of visitors expected for Yayoi Kusama’s new exhibition at David Zwirner in Summer 2023, here are some practical FAQs to help you plan your visit.

When and where is the exhibition?
The exhibition will open on Friday, May 12 (6-8 PM) at our 519 and 525 West 19th street and 537 West 20th street galleries in New York.

What are the opening hours?
Gallery opening hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM-6 PM

The gallery will be closing early at 4 PM on Friday, May 26, and closed on Saturday, May 27 in celebration of Memorial Day weekend. We will be open with regular hours the following week.

Are tickets required?
No, the exhibition is free and open to the public. It’s first come, first entry.

Will there be long lines to get in?
Previous Kusama exhibitions at the gallery and elsewhere have had wait times from thirty minutes to over two hours-it depends on the time and the day. Please note that the line may be cut off at a certain point to accommodate visitors during open hours.

If capacity allows, those wishing to see the paintings and sculptures by Kusama can simply enter the gallery without waiting.

What’s the best time to come?
It’s hard to guarantee quick entry, but for past Kusama shows, the shortest wait times were often early weekday mornings.

Can I bring a group to see the exhibition?
Due to limited capacity and time constraints for this exhibition, we are unable to accommodate group visits or public tours during the duration of the show. The gallery hopes to host school groups on Mondays when it is otherwise closed to the public. Please get in touch with newyork@davidzwirner.com for early requests.

Is photography allowed in the exhibition?
Flash photography, video cameras, tripods, and selfie sticks are prohibited. Visitors may take photographs without flash.

Is the exhibition child-friendly?
Yes, the exhibition is appropriate for all ages. Please be advised that the line is long and wait times can be significant.

Is the exhibition wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the exhibition is wheelchair accessible, including the Infinity Mirrored Room.

Are there any public bathrooms?
There are no public bathroom facilities at the gallery.

Where can I buy Kusama books and merchandise?
During the run of the show, our bookstore at 535 West 20th Street will be open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 AM-6 PM. You can also visit davidzwirnerbooks.com.
