Little Tokyo / DTLA / Skid Row-Kyo Open Mic Talent Show All Welcome. Woke Stage is a performance art series that showcases talent from the fandom community! Our first night will be held at Little Tokyo's Centenary UMC on August 17th 300 S. Central Ave. (corner of Central and 3rd Street) home to the Skid Row-Kyo Mission. Doors open at 7pm. Event starts at 7:30pm. We have three open mic slots available. Sign ups begin at 7pm.

$5 recommended donation for entry. Part of the proceeds will be donated to help the Skid Row-Kyo Mission, where the "Spirit and Culture" of Little Tokyo, the "Creativity, Imagination and Inspiration" of the Artist District and the "Compassion and Humanity" of Los Angeles's Skid Row District intersect bringing the three community's together in harmony, solidarity and unity.

Skid Row-Kyo Mission
Skid Row-Kyo (pronounced "skid row kee - oh") refers to the location where Little Tokyo, the Artist District and Skidrow intersects. Skid Row-Kyo Mission Non religious, non profit fellowship group based out of Centenary United Methodist Church in Little Tokyo (DTLA.) "Skid Row-Kyo" refers to the section of Downtown Los Angeles where the "Spirit and Culture" of Little Tokyo, the "Creativity, Imagination and Inspiration" of the Artist District and the "Compassion and Humanity" of Los Angeles's Skid Row District intersect bringing the three community's together in harmony, solidarity and unity. Skid Row-Kyo is a place where local Artists can show their work, Thespians can perform, Dancers can Dance and local Musicians can share their music with the community. Skid Row-Kyo is a place where brothers and sisters of this earth share with those less fortunate and those in despair living "homeless" in Skid Row. Skid Row-Kyo Mission bringing people together, promoting the arts and helping those in need, driven by the spirit of culture and community.
