The Japanese Spotlight on April 27th. The mission of the Newport Beach Film Festival's Japanese Spotlight is to celebrate the traditional and modern culture of Japanese and Japanese Americans. It is important for the public to be aware of the contributions these outstanding men and women have contributed to American society and to keep promoting the spirit and culture of the Japanese people. Strengthening ties with the local community aligns with the goals of the festival because one of our missions is to bring together and celebrate the culture of Japan through an outstanding film and networking opportunity at our after party.

Each year the festival hosts nightly International Spotlight events in Newport Beach. The Japanese Spotlight on April 27th will pay homage to the film industry and celebrate the extensive Japanese history and culture. The evening will feature a Japanese film screening, followed by an after party of Japanese food, performance, and culture. We will toast the evening away with a diverse crowd of filmmakers, actors, and film aficionados.

We would like to invite The Japanese American Citizens League to partake in this amazing evening as an official supporter of the Newport Beach Film Festival Japanese Spotlight. As a supporter, we hope you could inform and invite your audiences and public to attend the Japanese Spotlight through your social media platforms. The evening will provide opportunities for your organization to enhance the appreciation of the Japanese culture and arts, network with influential individuals, and get media exposure.

From April 23rd - 30th, 2015 - the 16th annual Newport Beach Film Festival will showcase over 350 films from across the globe and host a wide array of multicultural activities. Celebrated as Orange County's premiere film event, the Newport Beach Film Festival attracts over 55,000 attendees from around the world who come together to experience the ultimate cinematic experience along the pristine coastline of Southern California.
