The Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation (SASF) is a non-profit 501 (C) (3) organization dedicated to the building of a community/recreational facility in the Elk Grove/Laguna area of south Sacramento, California. The SASF promotes and supports sports and cultural programs for children, youths and adults in Sacramento County to encourage and facilitate the development of good character, leadership, citizenship and sportsmanship. This is to teach and show children, youths and adults of Asian/Pacific ancestry that there is no greater cause than to serve your community by returning what you have received.

The SASF Board is composed of community and sports leaders from the Sacramento Asian/Pacific community, and are dedicated to the above ideals. The Board believes the recreational facility can serve the community by bringing children and youth into contact with community spirited citizens to observe the work and sacrifices expended on their behalf and for their future. This will develop future community leaders who will one day return what they have received to the community. In short, the sports will bring in the youth to introduce them to their community obligations and influence them to make this a better world for others to live in.

The Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation has received the support of the community. The SASF's fundraiser events require a work force of approximately 150 to 300 volunteers who come from Sacramento churches, sports and community organizations. the SASF's fundraiser include an annual sellout crab feed, which caters to approximately 850 attendees; the largest invitational basketball tournament in Northern California, with over 150 teams participating every year; and a golf tournament which is sponsored by Mikuni's Japanese restaurant.

In just a few short years, the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation has established itself as a solid and credible organization in the Sacramento Asian/Pacific community. The SASF has obtained the support of the community, raised seed money for its project, and developed successful fund-raisers for its future needs to accomplish its 'Quest.'
