Mission
The purpose of the SJUMC Basketball Program is to provide the children of members of the SJUMC and of the Christian Church community the opportunity to expand their cultural/religious awareness and to develop self-esteem through organized sports.

Background
The Sacramento Japanese United Methodist Church (SJUMC) participates in the Northern California Church League (NCCL) basketball league.  This participation is an outreach to offer local youth the opportunity to participate in a sports league focused on teamwork and character.

Welcome
The SJUMC basketball program is open to youth entering kindergarten thru 12th grade.  Because of increased enrollment in our instructional program, this year's program will consist of two sessions each Friday:  5:30-6:30 (kindergarten and 1st grade) and 6:40-7:40 (2nd grade).  Each session will be limited to 30 youth; the instructional program fills up quickly so we encourage you to register early and pass the information on to those interested in joining our program. You may contact Jennifer Fong at [email protected], who is coordinating the instructional program, with any questions.

Worship service at SJUMC begins at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday.  September 9th is the first day of Sunday School--9:30 a.m. (nursery through 8th grade); this day is also the 'Welcome Back' luncheon (potluck) at 11:30; all are invited to attend-just bring a dish to share (except chow mein and drinks as these are provided).
