The Japanese Student Association (JSA) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is a registered student organization dedicated to promoting Japanese culture and fostering a diverse community. Open to students of all backgrounds, JSA provides a platform for individuals to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of Japan and Japanese American traditions.

Established in 2010, originally known as the Japanese Culture Club, JSA has evolved to emphasize inclusivity and cultural exchange. The association organizes a variety of events, from intimate gatherings focused on Japanese calligraphy and arts and crafts to larger celebrations like Springfest, an annual festival inspired by traditional Japanese street fairs. Springfest features authentic Japanese food, games, raffles, and live music, attracting a significant number of participants each year.

JSA collaborates with numerous sponsors to support its events and initiatives, partnering with over 20 organizations, including brands like Yerba and Celsius. The association also maintains an active presence on social media platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook, to engage with the campus community and beyond.

Through its diverse programming and commitment to inclusivity, the Japanese Student Association at UMass Amherst serves as a vibrant hub for cultural exchange, education, and community building, welcoming all who are interested in exploring and celebrating Japanese culture.
