Kumiko Japanese Dining Bar is a restaurant in Chicago, Illinois that offers an elevated experience of Japanese cuisine and cocktails. The restaurant is owned and operated by Julia Momosé, a Japanese-American mixologist and entrepreneur.

Momosé's passion for Japanese food and culture is evident in Kumiko's menu, which features a variety of traditional and modern Japanese dishes, all made with the freshest ingredients. Some popular menu items include:
• Sashimi and shellfish served over thin Japanese summer noodles in a matsutaké citrus dashi
• Japanese eggplant and white beech mushrooms marinated in smoked shoyu dashi
• Our chefs' selection of fish marinated in garlic scape miso, flash-seared, and served with daikon oroshi and ponzu
• A5 Miyazaki wagyū, beef taré, truffle honey, toasted in beef fat

Kumiko is also known for its extensive cocktail program, which features a variety of Japanese-inspired cocktails, as well as a wide selection of Japanese sake and whisky. Momosé and her team of bartenders are experts in creating unique and flavorful cocktails that pair perfectly with the food on the menu.

The restaurant's interior is elegant and sophisticated, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dining room is decorated with traditional Japanese elements, such as wood paneling and shoji screens. There is also a bar area where guests can enjoy cocktails and appetizers before or after their meal.

Kumiko has been praised by critics and diners alike for its excellent food, drinks, and service. The restaurant has won numerous awards, including the 'Best Japanese Restaurant' award from Chicago Magazine. It has also been featured in national publications such as The New York Times and Bon Appétit.
