Valley Japanese Community Center was first established in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. We strive to preserve and perpetuate our Japanese American heritage and cultural experience. It is noteworthy that our Japanese Language School under the Kyodo System is one of the oldest operating institutions in the Los Angeles County. One of the first organizations formed under Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Church was Valley Buddhist Temple.

We are proud to offer diverse classes, clubs and activities to enrich the Japanese-American culture of the community. Martial arts classes in Judo, Karate and Kendo are currently being offered. Other cultural offerings are Ikebana (flower arrangement), Shigin (Japanese poetry), Tea Ceremony, Shodo (Japanese calligraphy) and Minyo Odori.
