B"The Karate Kid" was released on June 22, 1984, and since has left an indelible impression on millions of people around the world. Who can forget Daniel LaRusso and his mentor, war hero of the 442nd, Mr. Miyagi.

Inspired by the 30th anniversary story by Jared Cowan in LA Weekly (http://bit.ly/1qA0SoY), community leaders from San Fernando Valley came together over an idea as epic as the movie: Why not host a screening of The Karate Kid inside the Matadome, the same location where the "All-Valley Karate Championship" was filmed?

While the movie has been screened around the U.S. this year, it has yet to return to the San Fernando Valley -- until now. Join us on November 9, 2014 for a very special screening in celebration of the San Fernando Valley and the filmmakers who made it all possible. Immediately following the screening, we will hold a Q&A featuring director John G. Avildsen, screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen, and actor Martin "Sensei" Kove. The panel will be moderated by Jared Cowan.

All proceeds from the film will benefit local youth-centered charitable organizations.
