Paper-making: Try your hand at paper-making. Guests of all ages will make traditional Japanese paper, called washi with spring-themed decorations. Washi is typically made from Japanese Mulberry or Mitsumata wood bark. These barks have been used in Japan’s everyday life, including architectural elements like Shoji screens and folding fans.

Calligraphy with Gold Leaf Sprinkles: Another activity to experience is shodo/Japanese calligraphy with gold leaf decoration. All levels are welcome to enjoy spring-themed Japanese letters to write with sumi-ink!

Origami: Learn simple folds and more complex patterns with Girls’ Day themes!

Try some tea: With special guest Chicago Tea House, sample some traditinal teas while you create together!
