2026 Baseball Hall of Fame in July-Yakyu | Baseball: The Transpacific Exchange of the Game. Yakyu, the Japanese word for baseball, reflects a shared culture between Japan and the United States. This exhibit traces 150 years of transpacific exchange-from Meiji-era tours to today-showing how players, styles, fan culture, equipment, and stories shaped the game in both countries.

About the Exhibit Hosted by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, the exhibition presents artifacts and narratives spanning MLB and NPB, including historic tours, pioneering players, and modern stars.

Featured Legacy Pioneers Masanori Murakami and Hideo Nomo paved the way for Ichiro Suzuki, Hideki Matsui, Yu Darvish, and Shohei Ohtani. American figures like Randy Bass, Warren Cromartie, Matt Murton, and Bobby Valentine made a lasting impact in Japan.

Exhibit Timing Opened July 2025 and continuing through July 2026 as part of the Hall of Fame’s summer programming.

Highlights Include

  • Hideo Nomo’s 1996 Dodgers no-hitter baseball and a Shohei Ohtani Dodgers jersey
  • Historic team tours such as Babe Ruth’s 1934 Japan tour
  • Stories connecting Meiji beginnings to today’s global stars
