The Kauai Japanese Cultural Society’s Matsuri Festival is a multi-generational family-oriented event which celebrates the Japanese and Japanese-American cultures of Hawaii that includes cross-cultural exchanges with Kauai’s Sister Cities in Japan.  From cultural performances in dance, wearing and experiencing traditional attire such as yukata and kimono to traditional watching demonstrations and food tastings such as mochi pounding and soba making, attendees will experience a wide array of cultural, historical and both traditional and non-traditional aspects of Japanese culture. 

This is a free festival open to all both young and old.  A little of something for everyone.
