Basics Of Sushi Workshop. Sushi has entered the American palate as a cultural influence from Japan. But do you know what sushi is? Few know that sushi is not actually raw fish, but rice made with a bit of vinegar and sugar. Served with a variety of accompaniments, cooked or raw fish and vegetables, it can take many forms. Participants in this hands-on workshop, led by Mitsutoshi Sekita, sushi chef and owner from a Japanese restaurant in Plantation, Florida will learn cultural information about sushi, how to make sushi, and, of course, enjoy eating the sushi. Both classes teach you how to create the same sushi.

Please Bring
A sharp 7-8” knife, a cutting board approximately 10” x 15”, an apron, and a dishtowel.

How Delicious Sushi Is
Sushi is a dish that is often described as delicious because it combines a unique blend of flavors and textures. The vinegared rice provides a slightly sweet and sour taste that complements the savory flavors of the seafood or other ingredients. The raw fish or cooked fillings add a rich and distinctive flavor, while the seaweed or other wraps provide a satisfying crunch. Additionally, the presentation of sushi is often considered a work of art, with the colorful and carefully arranged ingredients creating a visually stunning dish. Overall, sushi's deliciousness is a result of its balance of flavors, textures, and presentation.
