In this very special World Premiere, East and West collide in this evening-length fusion of New York jazz and Japanese traditional culture, by composer and jazz pianist, Eri Yamamoto.

Choral Chameleon's 50+ voice Chorus will sing while performing an obon dance in a circular formation, propelled by Yamamoto's jazz trio.  In the spirit of the obon, usually danced by an entire community in a public place, the entire audience will be taught the dance and will be invited to join the circle.

Featuring Eri Yamamoto Trio:
* Eri Yamamoto, piano
* Ikuo Takeuchi, drums
* David Ambrosio, bass

The festive spirit starts in the lobby, where the audience can enjoy American craft Sake by Brooklyn Kura - the first sake brewed right here in New York City - as well as sweets and the finest green tea by Nishimura Banchaya Honten brought from Japan especially for our concerts!
