Ondo Dance practice for Mountain View Buddhist Temple begins starting in June each week. Everyone is welcome to learn the dances.
Definition of Maui-Style Bon Dancing
The Maui-style Bon Dance on Saturday evening is a simpler, communal dance celebration, with a come-as-you-are attitude and dances brought over from Maui. For the Sunday evening performance, Bon Odori is a more formal affair with dancers spending a lot of time and effort getting dressed in kimonos or yukatas and a wide selection of dancing implements being required for the dances.
