Japan Business Association of Southern California, a California nonprofit mutual benefit corporation, comprises of approximately 450 Japanese companies engaged in diverse business activities throughout Southern California. We represent the interests of our members by enhancing the stature of Japanese contributions to local communities and improving the business environment for our members.
In support of our mission, we regularly conduct surveys and release information on the impact of our members on Southern California’s employment and economy. We also maintain close relationships with the state government in Sacramento as well as with local governments to identify and address issues affecting our members.
We also engage in the following activities to foster friendships and promote goodwill for our members throughout Southern California:
- Membership services including socializing and networking events;
- Involvement in education including supporting Asahi Gakuen
and other local schools; and
- Commitment and contribution to local communities.
JBA is a Non-Profit Organization supporting Japanese corporations and individuals.
 JBA dispatches an administrative committee to Asahi Gakuen to provide consultation on management and educational issues. Asahi Gakuen is a Saturday supplemental school that teaches the Japanese curriculum. We also provide financial support to the school, and children of JBA members receive preferred enrollment fees.
 JBA has been sponsoring educators from local schools to visit Japan in appreciation for responding to the special needs of Japanese children. The US Educators to Japan Program was established in 1975 with the cooperation of the Japan External Trade Organization.
Fifteen to twenty teachers, principals, and school district representatives visit Japan for a two-week tour. In Japan, they participate in field trips to schools, meetings with educators, home stay programs, and reunions with former students. This unique program designed by JBA has been adopted by other Japanese organizations throughout the world. |
