Nikkei Credit Union - Banking for All Generations Nikkei Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative serving the Nikkei and Mabuhay communities in Southern California. Founded in 1951 by twelve members, renamed in 1998, and expanded with the Mabuhay division in 2019, we focus on delivering quality service, lower fees, and fair rates while reinvesting value back to our members and community.

What We Do Savings and checking for everyday money management, auto and personal loans, real estate loans and HELOC, Visa credit card, share-secured loans, youth and IRA accounts, and money market and share certificates. Access your accounts with online and mobile banking, phone teller, and a large CO-OP ATM network.

Checking Options Standard, Value, and Premium checking. Benefits may include mobile and online banking, e-statements, debit card, buyer’s protection and extended warranty, ID theft aid, cell phone protection, roadside assistance, pharmacy and vision discounts, local merchant savings, and more through BaZing.

Savings Primary Savings establishes membership. Minimum to open is 1 dollar. Special Savings lets you create goal-based buckets with no minimum deposit required.

How To Join Complete a membership application, provide a valid U.S. government ID, and deposit 1 dollar to Savings within 30 days.

Who Can Join (Field of Membership) Persons of Japanese ancestry and their immediate family living in Los Angeles and Orange Counties; employees of the credit union and organizations of such persons; members and employees of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of SouthBay Los Angeles Area; family or household members of existing members.
