The Seabrook Buddhist Temple, also known as the Seabrook Gakuen, is a Buddhist temple located in Seabrook, New Jersey, United States. It serves as a spiritual and cultural center for the local Buddhist community and promotes the teachings and practices of Buddhism.

The temple was established in 1934 by Reverend Hoshin Fujii, who was a resident minister at the time. It belongs to the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha, also known as the Nishi Hongwanji branch of Pure Land Buddhism. This branch emphasizes the recitation of the Nembutsu, which is the repetition of the name of Amida Buddha, as the primary practice for attaining enlightenment.

The Seabrook Buddhist Temple provides a welcoming environment for individuals interested in learning about Buddhism, regardless of their background or level of familiarity with the teachings. It offers various activities and programs to engage both members and the wider community. These include meditation sessions, Dharma study classes, cultural events, and social gatherings.

The temple's main hall, called the Hondo, is the central place for worship and ceremonies. It typically houses an altar with statues or images of Amida Buddha, along with other revered figures. Members and visitors gather in the Hondo to participate in religious services and ceremonies, which often involve chanting, recitation of sutras, and listening to Dharma talks given by the resident minister or guest speakers.

In addition to its religious activities, the Seabrook Buddhist Temple is known for its community involvement and outreach efforts. It actively promotes interfaith dialogue and cooperation, fostering understanding and harmony among different religious traditions. The temple also participates in charitable initiatives, supporting local causes and contributing to the welfare of the broader community.
