2025 NYBC Obon Dance Festival - New York, NY. The Obon Dance Festival makes its long-awaited return to Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Sunday, July 13. For the first time, the celebration will take place just steps from the New York Buddhist Church (NYBC) on 106th Street, thanks to the dedication of the Obon Committee who worked tirelessly to secure this special neighborhood location.

This community-centered event is open to the public and features traditional Obon circle dancing, powerful Taiko drumming, origami activities for children, and other cultural festivities. Everyone is encouraged to join in the celebration of remembrance, joy, and togetherness.
