Join in and celebrating Shin-Sen-Gumi’s 30th anniversary festival event. Get a taste of Japanese culture with various Japanese foods, live music, entertainment, anime cosplay, fun activities, eating contest, and more!

As a place for imparting Japanese culture and local area vitalization Shin-Sen-Gumi holds several events since our conception, such as the mochitsuki ceremony during the New Year’s holiday, Children’s Day, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and more but most important event held is the “Summer Festival”. During the Summer Festival, various guests, entertainers and crew are flown in from Japan to enliven the festival. We're excited to be able to bring back this special event, celebrating our 30th Anniversary with the community.

Cosplay Contest
Reaching our 30 years anniversary of serving the So-Cal area, we're celebrating Japanese cultures. During our Matsuri, we will be holding a cosplay contest with 50 contestants randomly chosen. Participants in the contest stand a chance to win a grand prize of $1000. Winners will be decided by the judges for the event. Please fill out this form if you would like to participate in the contest.

Kaedama Extra Noodle Contest
Reaching our 30 years anniversary of serving the So-Cal area, we're bringing one of our annual events on this special day. We will be holding Kaedama/Extra Noodle Contest. The one who eats the most will win a grand prize of $1000. 30 participants will be chosen at random. Contest will last 15 minutes with 10 participants a session. The one who eats the most bowls of noodles wins! If you are interested in participating, please fill  out this form.

The Torrance Cultural Arts Center includes the Toyota Meeting Hall, the Torino Festival Plaza, the Ken Miller Assembly Room, the Ken Miller Auditorium, the James R. Armstrong Theatre, the George Nakano Theatre, the Pine Wind Japanese Garden, the garden rooms, and the Torrance Art Museum. The complex is managed by the City's General Services Department through the Torrance Cultural Arts Center Administrative Offices.
