SAJCC Council voted on 7/25/23 to host this festival later, on March 23, 2024 at Tucson Chinese Cultural Center. Stay tuned for further info. Go to March 23 calender link.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic came to Tucson, our SAJCC Council cancelled the Jan. 2021, 2022 and 2023 festivals held annually in January to celebrate the New Year, with mochi pounding and tasting, other Japanese cultural activities & performances.

History:

2014 first location was Yume Japanese Gardens
2015 at Rhythm Industry Performance Factory (home of Odaiko Sonora)
2016 to 2018 at PCC Downtown
2019 & 2020 at Tucson Chinese Cultural Center
2021 to 2023 cancelled due to covid pandemic
2024 at Tucson Chinese Cultural Center
