Yamato Travel Bureau® was founded in 1957 by Eddie K. Yamato. Eddie was born in Hawaii and he ventured to California to find there was a part of the population that required help in immigration, accounting, insurance and many other service matters. He started the Yamato Service Bureau in 1923 to meet these needs. With various departments in his company, Mr. Yamato strived to provide service to anyone who needed assistance. The travel division was an outgrowth of the employment division. After his passing in 1960, Peggy Yamato Mikuni, the oldest daughter, having been with Yamato Travel Bureau® since its inception, has carried on the business.

Yamato Travel Bureau® was established with the motto, 'Our reputation is built on courteous service.' All sales agents are trained to handle each request courteously with clients' special requests and desires in mind. Many satisfied and repeat clients give us the gratification and incentive to continue servicing our valued clients.

Along with the necessary ARC and IATAN business, bonding and insurance qualifications, Yamato Travel Bureau® is a long-standing member of the American Society of Travel Agents, Pacific Area Travel Association, Cruise Lines International Association, as well as a member of the nation-wide consortium, Vacation.com.
