About
Over the past century, NAMM has proudly represented the industry that brings the gift of music into people's lives. What started in May of 1901 as a small, grassroots organization of 52 founding Members has since blossomed into an international association representing nearly 9,000 retailers and manufacturers of musical instruments and products from 85 countries worldwide.

Everything NAMM does is intended to serve its Members and realize its mission of unifying, leading and strengthening the global music products industry and increasing active participation in music making.

To achieve these goals, the association has broadened the industry's reach through professional education, public legislation and innovative market-building programs. In addition, NAMM has joined hands with such major organizations and corporations as Disney, Sesame Street, VH1 and the Justin Timberlake Foundation to share its message with the masses. NAMM has also captured the attention of the media with unprecedented music/ brain research, built the world's premiere music product trade shows and helped its Members save time and money through carefully selected discount service providers.

After more than a century of service, the association continues to be a valuable resource to its Members. Large or small, near or far, NAMM gives music products professionals a voice and helps them maximize their company’s potential. What does NAMM stand for? NAMM stands for the global music products industry. NAMM stands for you.
