LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes is a vibrant cultural center located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, near Olvera Street and Union Station. It is dedicated to celebrating the rich Mexican, Mexican American, and Latino history and culture that have shaped the city and Southern California. The center occupies historic buildings and a landscaped plaza, creating a unique space that blends the past with contemporary art and community events.

Opened in 2011, LA Plaza offers rotating exhibitions, educational programs, and cultural activities that highlight the contributions of Latinos to Los Angeles’ development. The museum’s exhibitions often combine historical artifacts with modern artistic expressions, fostering conversations about identity, heritage, and social change.

The outdoor plaza is a gathering place for performances, festivals, and community celebrations throughout the year. Events range from Día de los Muertos festivities and art fairs to live music and culinary demonstrations, reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of Latino culture in the region.

Through its programs and exhibitions, LA Plaza serves as both a cultural institution and a community hub, preserving history while inspiring future generations to engage with their heritage and the broader cultural landscape of Los Angeles.
