Zellerbach Hall is a premier performing arts venue located on the University of California, Berkeley campus. Opened in 1968, it is part of the Zellerbach Auditorium complex and has become a cornerstone of cultural life in the Bay Area. The venue is named after Isadore and Jennie Zellerbach, philanthropists who generously supported the arts. Known for its modernist architectural design, Zellerbach Hall features a spacious interior and excellent acoustics, making it suitable for a wide range of performances.

The venue consists of two primary performance spaces: the 2,000-seat Zellerbach Auditorium and the more intimate 500-seat Zellerbach Playhouse. This versatility allows it to host a diverse array of events, from large-scale concerts, operas, and dance performances to smaller theatrical productions and lectures. Over the years, Zellerbach Hall has been home to world-class artists and companies, including the San Francisco Symphony, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Yo-Yo Ma.

Managed by Cal Performances, Zellerbach Hall serves as a hub for the university and the wider community, offering programs that reflect a commitment to artistic excellence and cultural diversity. In addition to its regular schedule of performances, the venue also supports educational initiatives, such as masterclasses and outreach programs, aimed at inspiring new generations of performers and art enthusiasts.

With its central location on the UC Berkeley campus and its reputation for hosting world-class events, Zellerbach Hall continues to be a vital part of the cultural landscape in Northern California. It attracts audiences from across the region, providing a space where art, community, and education converge.
