Map of Tanaka Farms, 5380 3/4 University Dr., Irvine

In 1998, forced to move the farming operation from Irvine Center Drive and Bake Parkway because of development, Tanaka Farms decided to go organic. The farm is situated in a valley in the heart of Irvine. It is hard to believe that this beautiful farm can exist among all of the development in Orange County.

The Irvine Stand opens mid-March when we begin to harvest our sweet strawberries along with over 50 other different fruits and vegetables. One difference at this location is that we offer both conventionally grown and organically grown strawberries . In front of the stand we have potted strawberry plants where you can pick your own strawberries right off the vine. You definitely cannot get fresher strawberries anywhere!!!

The real treat at the Irvine Stand, since it is located right at the farm, is that Tanaka Farms can offer field trips, Group Tours (May and June) for groups so that they may get a glimpse into the workings of a real farm. The field trip culminates in the strawberry patch where you pick your own strawberries and eat them right off of the vine. NO WHERE IN ORANGE COUNTY can you do that!!!

Stand
Our produce stand is open all year round with fresh organic and non-organic produce.  Our family is always at the produce stand from 9am-5pm.  Our organic produce is picked fresh in the morning so we can deliver to you the freshest and best tasting produce we can.  If you are looking for something in particular or need to special order our famous chocolate dipped strawberries you can call the produce stand at 949-653-2256.

After the spring season, summer gets a kick-start with Tanaka Farms’ vine ripened, organically grown, beefsteak tomatoes. Tomatoes that smell and taste like a tomato should. Fourth of July not only celebrates the United States’ fight for independence, but also signals the beginning of our organically grown, sweet white corn season.

The fall is an extremely fun time. Not only do we still have a full line of fruits and vegetables, but, we put on a heck of a show with our pumpkin patch Pick Pumpkin Patch]. Up front by the Produce Stand we not only have pumpkins of all sizes and colors, but all of the trimmings for sale: Painted pumpkins, special painted pumpkins by Aimee, corn stalks, bales of straw, decorative gourds and of course decorative corn. And for the kids, Tanaka Farms’ Haunted House, farm animals that you can feed and pet, a corn maze and a wagon ride that will take you out to the real pumpkin patch where you can pick your pumpkin right off the vine. NO WHERE IN ORANGE COUNTY can you do that!!! Field trip include a self guided tour of the vegetable garden where children can pick each of the four crops that are growing (advanced reservations are necessary), and of course, any pumpkin that the child can carry.
