HMA has been providing music education to hundreds of students in Southern California since 2005. The music academy offers a wide range of programs from group classes for young children, to private lessons for professionalityminded teeneagers, and even continuing education for adults. The academy was originally established in 2005 by Shiho Yamamoto, the current director of HMA. Shiho founded the academy out of a strong desire to provide a place that not only technically trains, but inspires students to pursue their own artistic voices. Her guiding belief is that learning music needs to be both fun and enriching to be experienced completely.

Shiho's vision has been successfully carried out through HMA's use of classically based methods to teach multiple genres of music and dance to all ages and levels. Classes are taught by exceptional instructors who have all received academic degrees in music and many adept in teaching in alternative languages such as English, Spanish, Russian, and Japanese. HMA is arguably best known for its proprietary music for kids program: The Color Soundation. This is a unique, age, appropriate method for introuducing young children to essential music skills such as pitch, rhythm, and music literacy. We believe the experiences our Beginning Music for Kids (BMK) classes will provide better prepare children for advanced music training at an early age.

Through a structured yet casual course of diverse, fun activities, HORIPRO Music Academy's graduated lessons seamlessly transition students from Basic to Advanced curricula based upon the rudiments of Ear Training, Music Theory, and Musicianship. Our musical process helps develop wellrounded and creative young musicians.

HMA is founded in 2005 in part with Japan's leading total entertainment company, HORIPRO Inc.
