Come and celebrate the fall season at Wesley United Methodist Church’s 87th annual Aki Matsuri festival on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 11 AM to 4 PM in the heart of Japantown at 566 N. 5th Street. Parking will be available to our visitors at the Wesley 6th Street parking lot and 5th Street center divider (between Jackson and East Empire).

Aki Matsuri translates to Autumn Festival, a traditional time in Japan to be thankful for a good harvest and pray for the well-being of each family in the community. Our Aki Matsuri celebrates a harvest of faith, a gift from God received through this church and community. Enjoy this neighborly and family-friendly gathering that offers something for everyone.Find a wide selection of Japanese American cuisine such as BBQ chicken teriyaki, sushi, and udon noodles in our Food Pavilion to dine in or take out. Throughout the day, experience a variety of entertainment across three stages featuring our city’s world-famous San Jose Taiko, talented local youth and adults performing traditional and contemporary music and dance. Shop in the Marketplace for beautiful handmade Asian crafts, unique gifts, and an array of live plants. For children and the young-at-heart, visit our very popular interactive Kids Zone highlighting a cultural experience through games, crafts, and entertainment. Participate in the Silent Auction and your donation will benefit the future Wesley Garden and Play Space.
