Walk the Farm Event
We do hope that you will join us on an enjoyable one mile walk around a real working farm for young and old alike. This year you will not only sample fresh fruits and vegetables but you will also be able to go directly into the fields and harvest your own right off of the vine. And we will have educational signage, entertaining performances, friendly volunteers and children's crafts available along the way. This year we will be featuring the "Issei and Nisei Farmers: Their Legacy'" a collection of farm family memories of stories and photographs.

Since 2011, thousands of us have joined together every year at Tanaka Farms in Irvine, California. As a community, we've raised funds for farmers to rebuild, for agricultural students to receive scholarships, and for new farmers to receive much needed assistance. This year make sure to stop and meet Ms. Kurita and Ms. Kobayashi, two scholarship recipients from Fukushima University. They will be here to witness first had the generosity and support of the JA community.

Tanaka Farms and the OCO Club hope to spread awareness and help send a message of hope, or kibou, to farmers around the world devastated by natural disasters.

100% of the net proceeds go to providing support for farmers suffering from natural disasters, both locally and abroad.

Join us on a one and a half mile walk around a real working farm sampling fresh fruits and vegetables as we remember and send thoughts of "kibou" to those that are still suffering from the effects of the earthquake/tsunami on March 11, 2011.
