A Celebrated Event Returns! We are excited to welcome you back to this special evening honoring the spirit and tradition of Obon. Join us for a memorable night of reflection, community, and celebration under the stars.

What is Obon?

Obon is a heartwarming Japanese tradition where families welcome the spirits of their ancestors for a brief visit. On the final night, these spirits are gently guided back to the afterlife, their path illuminated by farewell lights. In many communities, these lights take the form of simple paper lanterns floating peacefully on water. Families who have lost loved ones in the past year often send beautifully decorated boats to help guide their spirits on this journey.

On this special evening, you will have the opportunity to decorate and launch your own lantern, sending personal messages to honor and remember loved ones.
