Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.��United Nations

To mark this important day at the Garden, we will participate in the�Peace Crane Project�during Open Thursday on September 21. Volunteers will help you learn to fold origami cranes as a prayer for peace around the world. The cranes will be collected and sent to places in the world that can benefit from your prayers. We hope you will join us. Paper and instructions provided. The�International Day of Peace�is free with Open Thursday admission.
